The Light in Impossible Places
Hope and faith are, in many ways, the most important drivers of life. They shine light into circumstances that feel impossible and transform outcomes that once felt out of reach. I’ve always believed in the unseen — in the force of the universe and how it quietly shapes and guides us.
Hope gives you the strength to move when you don’t feel like moving, to fight when your spirit is weary, and to believe when belief feels out of reach. It’s the quiet force behind every healing, every breakthrough, every comeback.
The Mantra That Carries Me
On my wall hangs a quote I return to during seasons of struggle:
“Faith in your soul, hope in your mind, and love in your heart.”
With that, we truly have everything we need. I taught myself as a young girl that there is no such thing as impossible. And now, decades later, that belief still holds me.
Wisdom from the Forgotten Ones
My time working as a certified nursing assistant in nursing homes was one of the most formative periods of my life. I loved caring for the elderly — their gentleness, their wisdom, their stories. I used to ask many of them the same question:
“What’s one regret you have in life, and why?”
Nearly every time, the answer was: “I didn’t follow my dreams.”
And when I’d ask why, they’d say they were their own biggest roadblock. They believed their dreams were too bold, too unachievable. So, they lived safe — and while there’s nothing wrong with that, it often left them living with the question: “What if?”
That truth shaped me. I made a silent vow to never let fear hold me back and to always keep hope — especially when chasing the impossible.
How I Find My Way Back to Peace
So if you’re reading this and feel like you’re drowning, unable to find a way out — take a moment. Breathe. Anchor yourself in something that calms your heart, mind, and soul.
For me, it’s music. Nature. A loving voice. Meditation. Sound therapy. Or a few spoken words of affirmation that remind me of who I am.
There is no shame in needing stillness. No weakness in needing support. In fact, chronic stress, anxiety, and hopelessness have long been linked to the development of chronic diseases like heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and even autoimmune conditions (Harvard Health, 2024).
But here’s the good news: the moment you start healing your mind, your body follows. And with that, the sky is the limit on a road to a healthy life.
